However, things take a turn when Devika’s husband (Kishore) unexpectedly returns home. What follows is a series of events where Bobby must find a way to escape, with the help of his friends. Strengths:
While the storyline may not offer anything groundbreaking to Telugu audiences, director Hari Kolagani manages to narrate it in an engaging way. As advertised, Shikaaru primarily delivers on comedy with a message, especially in the first half.
Sai Dhansika delivers a commendable performance in her Tollywood debut, taking on a role that stands out. Dheeraj Aathreya, in particular, shines with his humorous portrayal, drawing attention with his innocent expressions and hilarious dialogue delivery, especially in scenes referencing the star hero Balakrishna. The performances of Tej Kurapati, Navakanth, Chammak Chandra, and Posani Krishna Murali also add to the film’s strengths.
Weaknesses:
Although enjoyable, the film’s plot is predictable and somewhat average, relying heavily on the charm and talent of its cast. The story veers off course in parts, diverting from the main plotline, causing the film to lose momentum. Additionally, characters like Annapurna and Surekha Vani could have been utilized more effectively, and their extended screen time in the second half could have added to the humor.
Technical Aspects:
Hari Kolagani’s direction is solid, particularly his ability to maintain a light comedic tone throughout the film. On the technical side, Vasili Shyam Prasad’s cinematography captures the film well, and Shekar Chandra’s background score complements the tone of the movie. However, the editing by Venkateswara Rao could have been tighter, especially in the second half, where a few scenes could have been trimmed to maintain the pace.
